Food analysis is of paramount importance for animal nutrition. Knowing food and its composition is essential to guarantee good productivity, maintaining a balance between cost and benefit, depending on seasonal variations. Considering what was said, the supervised internship was carried out and this report aims to describe the analyzes and monitoring of activities that were carried out in the Animal Nutrition Laboratory (LANA). The internship period was from September 9th to November 27th, totaling 300 hours, under the supervision of laboratory technician Dr. Antônio Fábio Lopes de Souza. During the internship, practical classes and external research were carried out. The analyzes carried out in the laboratory were moisture, mineral matter or ash, crude protein, lipids and crude fiber. There are many difficulties encountered in the laboratory, and challenges that are faced on a daily basis, the main ones being the lack of reagents and minimum quantity of glassware. These problems delay the carrying out of some analyzes and require quick solutions and adaptations so that they can be carried out, complying with the defined schedule. The laboratory establishes partnerships with the Federal Institute of Amazonas (IFAM), which provides reagents in exchange for carrying out analyses. In addition, it collaborates with the teachers of the Animal Science course, which facilitates both the operation of the laboratory and the execution of analyzes. |
