This is a descriptive and exploratory case study. The context of the research was in the Motor Activities Program for the Disabled (PROAMDE), at the Getúlio Vargas University Hospital (HUGV). The participant was an eight-year-old child with paraplegia, who underwent rehabilitation at PROAMDE in 2022. Data collection was carried out from the PROAMDE/HUGV medical records database. Intervention plans were used, as well as the patient's initial and final assessments. Data analysis was carried out in a descriptive way, with analysis categories being formed a priori based on the teaching stages of the aforementioned skills. Subsequently, the data were discussed in light of the literature review. In the rehabilitation program investigated, the HMCR were divided into stages with the aim of allowing them to be worked on progressively, facilitating understanding and learning. The development stages were as follows: touching the chair, moving forwards, backwards, sideways and zigzagging, going up and down ramps, prancing the CR while still and going up and down steps. This allowed each skill to be developed gradually. The game was an ally in the teaching process, allowing the child to effectively engage in the intervention protocol. In the HMCR evaluated, the patient progressed from the result “does not perform” or “performs with difficulty” in the initial assessment to “performs” in the final evaluation. This research highlighted the importance of play as a strategy for teaching HMCR to a child in a physical rehabilitation program. The results described reinforce the importance of playful approaches during care, providing a new meaning to the environment and greater assertiveness in care protocols. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo apresentar um programa de intervenção em reabilitação física pautado no uso do lúdico como estratégia para o ensino das HMCR para uma criança com lesão medular. Trata-se de um estudo de caso do tipo descritivo e exploratório. O contexto da pesquisa foi no Programa de Atividades Motoras para Deficientes (PROAMDE), no polo do Hospital Universitário Getúlio Vargas (HUGV). A participante foi uma criança de oito anos de idade com paraplegia, a qual realizou reabilitação no PROAMDE no ano de 2022. A coleta de dados foi realizada a partir do banco de prontuários do PROAMDE/HUGV. Foram utilizados planos de intervenção, bem como as avaliações, inicial e final da paciente. A análise de dados foi realizada de forma descritiva, sendo formadas categorias de análise à priori com base nas etapas de ensino das referidas habilidades. Posteriormente, os dados foram discutidos à luz da revisão bibliográfica. No programa de reabilitação investigado, as HMCR foram divididas em etapas com o objetivo de permitir que fossem trabalhadas progressivamente, facilitando a compreensão e a aprendizagem. As etapas de desenvolvimento foram as seguintes: toque na cadeira, deslocamento para frente, para trás, para os lados e o zigue-zague, subir e descer rampas, empinar a CR parado e subir e descer degrau. Isso possibilitou que cada habilidade fosse desenvolvida de forma gradual. O lúdico foi um aliado no processo de ensino, permitindo o efetivo engajamento da criança no protocolo de intervenção. Nas HMCR avaliadas, a paciente obteve evolução do resultado “não realiza” ou “realiza com dificuldade” na avaliação inicial para “realiza” na avaliação final. Essa pesquisa evidenciou a importância do lúdico como estratégia para o ensino das HMCR para uma criança em um programa de reabilitação física.
