Resumo:
Modeling and simulation are among the most suitable scientific methods for the development of Production Engineering studies. However, data from the main national events in this area show that most publications are theoretical-conceptual articles, as opposed to a much smaller number of modeling and analytical method articles. The objective of this study is to consolidate, among the technical simulation publications in the main national Production Engineering events, relevant information to present an overview of the use of modeling and simulation in Production Engineering. The research was carried out based on a systematic literature review, analyzing articles published in the years 2014 to 2023 in the articles published in the main national Production Engineering events (ENEGEP, SIMPEP and SIMEP), which addressed simulation techniques. In addition, the declaration method, known as PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic review and Meta-Analysis) was used to select and analyze the articles, resulting in a set of 336 articles that allowed for the creation of an overview. Based on the literature review, three questions were defined for this research. Regarding Question (i): Which educational institutions publish on simulations in the main Production Engineering conferences in the country? It was found that the Federal University of Itajubá stands out in publications on simulation in Production Engineering conferences in Brazil, with 24 publications. Regarding Question (ii): Which simulation software is most used in research focused on Production Engineering? Arena software is the most used, present in 129 articles. Finally, Question (iii): What are the future research trends on simulation in Production Engineering? From 2022 to 2023, only 26 articles addressed future research trends in simulation, pointing to changes in scenario parameters and the expansion of the scope of applications.
