This article aims to carry out a survey of the academic production of social work based on the annals of ENPESS and CBAS (2016 to 2022) in relation to indigenous issues and social assistance policy. We understand that the indigenous agenda is revealed within the ethnic-racial issue and that it encourages social services to problematize in the field of training, research and professional performance. We reflect on the historical context of indigenous peoples as subjects of rights inserted in social assistance policy as well as the challenges and possibilities in operationalizing SUAS and developing social work with indigenous families, considering ethnic-cultural and territorial particularities. This research was constructed from a systematic literature review and documentary analysis. Based on the data collection in the respective annals, we obtained as a result a scarcity of academic productions in social work on the indigenous issue and social assistance, and we highlighted the urgent need for the professional category to make a commitment to research on (and with) indigenous peoples. |
