Introduction: The International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) defines pain as "An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated, or similar to that associated, with actual or potential tissue injury. Objective: Evaluate the impacts of implementing best pain management practices Pain Management in the immediate postoperative period in the Surgical Unit of a teaching hospital in Amazonas based on the baseline audit criteria and follow-up audit Methodology: Study of implementation of evidence for pain management in patients undergoing treatment. post-operative period at the Surgical Unit of the Hospital Universitário Getúlio Vargas in Manaus-AM The samples for this clinical study were collected and follow the evidence implementation framework, the population of this study was composed of the multidisciplinary team, hospitalized patients, medical records of patients admitted to the hospital. collection period. This project is a subproject of a Matrix project approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Amazonas, under CAA nº CAAE nº. 65125622.8.0000.5020 and opinion number 5,836,486. Results: From this study it was possible to implement the best practices for post-operative pain management, with the creation of two Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) - numerical scale and face scale, a folder to publicize the use of POPs, educational actions with the multidisciplinary team to provide guidance on the use of POPs, and post-operative pain management, the continuing education activity reached more than 90% of professionals from the three shifts of the clinics that are part of the Hospital's surgical unit. This ensures the provision of care that is sensitive to the limitations and adversities of patients, as well as promoting a better quality of post-operative life. Given the above, the following guiding question arises: What are the impacts of implementing best evidence-based practices for postoperative pain management in the surgical clinic of a teaching hospital in Amazonas, considering the criteria established by the JBI? |
