The locations that receive waste have three main forms, which are the dump, sanitary landfill and controlled landfill. The aim of this research was to diagnose the influence of the Manicoré dump, in the state of Amazonas, by carrying out chemical analyses of soil pollutants and physical-chemical analyses of surface water, recognizing the enterprise as a threat to environmental and public health. In order to georeference and map the areas, it was necessary to visit the study area on site to check the coordinates and take photographs. Observations made at the site showed that waste is disposed of directly on the ground, without protection or subsequent covering. Due to this problem, it was proposed to characterize the toxic metals present in the soil in the area of the dump, in which eight sampling points were selected distributed around the perimeter, the depth for all was 0-80cm. The elements Copper (Cu), Cadmium (Cd), Lead (Pb), Manganese (Mn), Chromium (Cr), Iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn), Cobalt (Co), Nickel (Ni), Potassium (K) and Sodium (Na) were defined for chemical analysis of the soil, along with the variables Organic Matter and pH. The water sample collected had its parameters measured in a specialized laboratory. The research did not reveal the presence of toxic metals at relevant levels, but it did reveal the presence of coliforms in the wells adjacent to the dump. Na maior parte das cidades brasileiras não há sistema de coleta, tratamento e disposição final adequada para os resíduos, as localidades que recebem os resíduos apresentam-se em três principais formas, que são o vazadouro, aterro sanitário e o aterro controlado. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo diagnosticar a influência do vazadouro de Manicoré, no Estado do Amazonas, realizando análises químicas dos poluentes do solo e físico-químicas da água superficial, reconhecendo o empreendimento como a ameaça que representam para a saúde doo meio ambiente e pública. Para o georreferenciamento e mapeamento das áreas se fez necessário uma visita in loco na área de estudo, para o aferimento de coordenadas e levantamento fotográfico. Nas observações realizadas no local, foi visto que a disposição de resíduos ocorre de forma direta no solo, sem proteção e posterior cobertura. Devido esta problemática, se propôs a caracterização dos metais tóxicos presente no solo na área do vazadouro, no qual foram selecionados oito pontos amostrais distribuídos pelo perímetro, a profundidade para todos foi de 0-80cm. Os elementos Cobre (Cu), Cádmio (Cd), Chumbo (Pb), Manganês (Mn), Cromo (Cr), Ferro (Fe), Zinco (Zn), Cobalto (Co), Níquel (Ni), Potássio (K) e Sódio (Na), foram definidos para análise química do solo, juntamente com as variáveis Matéria Orgânica e pH. A amostra de água coletada teve seus parâmetros aferidos em laboratório especializado. Os resultados obtidos fornecem informações que são cruciais para a tomada de decisões e promoção de políticas públicas voltadas para a temática que afeta em tantas esferas a qualidade de vida.
