Smoking causes a high rate of illness and, consequently, mortality that could be avoided in the midst of preventive measures such as not using cigarettes. Currently, cigarette addiction can be even more worrying due to the occasional pandemic caused by the Covid-19 virus. This is be-cause most people who smoke have Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases or respiratory dis-eases which, in addition to the effects of Covid-19, can be fatal. This is a worrying fact in the school environment. Many students are smokers and share the cigarette among their friends. Due to this problem, the study aimed to verify through bibliographic studies how smoking in the social and school environment can increase the risk of contamination by covid-19. Due to the above, the results found are in line with the alerts issued by the Ministry of Health; WHO; PAHO / WHO, warning that smoking is harmful to health and kills millions of people around the world, however, in the pandemic moment these risks may be more aggressively accentuated if the smoker becomes infected with the Covid-19 virus. I conclude that smoking, even in the social sphere, at home or meeting colleagues, can spread the virus, as sharing cigarettes can facilitate the proliferation of the virus as well as facilitate the contamination and spread of other diseases. |
