Resumo:
This research analyzes the history of the Settlement Pa Nova Amazônia, located in the State of Roraima in the Municipality of Boa Vista, Zona Rural, being 35 km away from the Urban Zone of the Municipality. The respective settlement is part of the former Fazenda Bamerindus, owned by a former financial group from Paraná, which had these lands confiscated by the Federal Government due to debts against the Union. In 2001, these lands were received by the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform - INCRA, with the purpose of establishing approximately one thousand families. We constructed the history of this settlement based on the reports of the oldest inhabitants of this region that date from 2003, who camped on the banks of BR 174, for the conquest of this land and through official documents provided by INCRA during the research on the creation of PA. The research concentrated in three moments addressing the history of the settlement; the lives of the settlers and the local production of the region. The success of the PA can be seen in numbers, since it is one of the ones that most serves the local market of Boa Vista, with its production based on agroecological principles with a fair selling price for vegetables, grains, small animals, fish farming and Cattle. In this context, the Good-eyed people count on a diversity of healthy products for their daily feeding from Familiar Agriculture. The research used field research, institutional data, interviews and other official documents prioritizing the farmers' life reports, demonstrating their history and conceptions regarding BP, based on oral history.
