Knowledge of the hydrological behavior it was restricted in this hydrographic basin, due to the lack of hydrometeorological monitoring stations in the area, which hindered the work of diagnosing and forecasting the use of its water resources. The research methodology included recognition, selection and field installation of the monitoring station, which was inspected in 12 technical visits; the selection of monitoring stations in bordering basins, to compare the results with the station in the study area; the analysis and statistical treatment of acquired data, both at the research station and at the comparative stations and; interpretation of results. The analyzes carried out from the data acquired at the monitoring station in Fazenda Recreio showed that the hydrological behavior of the lower Cauamé river basin follows the trend of the main river system, which is Branco-Uraricoera, also showing that the hydrological behavior of the lower Cauamé river it is congruent with the other basins in the period of drought, flood, water level amplitude and median monthly quotas. The average annual flow, the reference flows and the analyzes made from the net discharge values of the lower Cauamé river, at the extinct Sítio Jaraguá station, between 2003 and 2009, made it possible to determine the Q50 flow rates, of 81.5m³ / s; Q90, of 17.9m³ / s; Q95, 7.33m³ / s and; Q7.10, of 3.21m³ / s. The 6 rainiest months in the lower Cauamé River were from May / 2019 to September / 2019, together with the month of November / 2019. It was found that the least rainy months in all seasons were October / 2019, December / 2019, January / 2020, February / 2020 and March / 2020. The rainy period represented 89.15% of the accumulated total and the drought period represented 10.85% of the total. The comparison of the daily precipitation results of Fazenda Recreio and other comparative stations showed congruence given by the high and positive coefficient of determination, R² = 0.89. These results can be further improved by maintaining the Fazenda Recreio station and assisting in the studies of future projects that require the granting of the right to use water in the Cauamé River. Este trabalho científico propôs uma análise hidrológica a partir da instalação de uma estação de pesquisa fluvio-pluviométrica, no baixo rio Cauamé, na cidade de Boa Vista, que não possuía uma estação de monitoramento hidrológico automático até março de 2019. O conhecimento do comportamento hidrológico era restrito nesta bacia hidrográfica, devido à falta de estações hidrometeorológicas de monitoramento na área, o que dificultava o trabalho de diagnóstico e prognóstico do uso dos seus recursos hídricos. A metodologia de pesquisa incluiu o reconhecimento, a seleção e a instalação em campo da estação de monitoramento, que foi inspecionada em 12 visitas técnicas; a seleção de estações de monitoramento em bacias limítrofes, para comparação dos resultados com a estação da área em estudo; a análise e o tratamento estatístico dos dados adquiridos, tanto na estação da pesquisa como nas estações comparativas e; interpretação dos resultados. As análises efetuadas a partir dos dados adquiridos na estação de monitoramento em Fazenda Recreio mostraram que o comportamento hidrológico da bacia do baixo rio Cauamé segue a tendência do sistema fluvial principal, que é Branco-Uraricoera, mostrando ainda que o comportamento hidrológico do baixo rio Cauamé é congruente com as demais bacias no período da estiagem, da cheia, na amplitude de nível da água e na mediana de cotas mensais. A vazão média anual, as vazões de referências e as análises efetuadas a partir dos valores de descarga líquida do baixo rio Cauamé, na extinta estação Sítio Jaraguá, entre 2003 a 2009, possibilitaram determinar as vazões Q50, de 81,5m³/s; Q90, de 17,9m³/s; Q95, de 7,33m³/s e; Q7,10, de 3,21m³/s. Os 6 meses mais chuvosos no baixo rio Cauamé foram de maio/2019 a setembro/2019, juntamente com o mês de novembro/2019. Verificou-se que os meses menos chuvosos em todas as estações foram outubro/2019, dezembro/2019, janeiro/2020, fevereiro/2020 e março/2020. O período chuvoso representou 89,15% do total acumulado e o período da estiagem representou 10,85% do total. A comparação dos resultados de precipitação diária de Fazenda Recreio e demais estações comparativas mostrou congruência dada pelo coeficiente de determinação alto e positivo, R²=0,89. Estes resultados podem ser ainda aprimorados pela manutenção da estação Fazenda Recreio e auxiliar nos estudos de futuros projetos que necessitem de outorga de direito de uso da água no rio Cauamé.
