Through the migratory process from Venezuela to Brazil in recent years, especially to the state of Roraima, this research aims to analyze the relationship that exists between the arrival of Venezuelan migrants and the demand for resources in the Unified Health System (SUS) in
Roraima, seeking to analyze, mainly, the questions related to the financial contribution generated with the arrival of the Venezuelans and the burden generated to the State with this migration. The research aimed to analyze the migrant population's right of access to SUS, in addition to organizing and compiling data on this reality. The research involved two major themes, migration and public health policies in the migratory context. To achieve success in the pursuit of these objectives, a methodological strategy was adopted, which initially started with a bibliographic review based on studies of the health issue in Brazil and on migratory studies. Then, a vast survey of data was carried out in official sources to identify public health spending and investments between 2016 and 2020 in the State of Roraima. The fight for public health was addressed, through the creation of SUS in Brazil and the insertion and performance of SUS in Boa Vista Roraima. A debate was established on the right of access to public health for the Brazilian population and for the migrant population. Finally, data on Venezuelan migration in Roraima and its insertion in the SUS were presented, as well as data on costs and revenue in relation to the arrival of Venezuelan migrants and their impact on health. It is concluded, based on the data survey, that the confluence between migration and health
occurred in two areas: the migrants showed the weaknesses of the single health system in Boa Vista and, they served as a justification for the increase of resources directed to health in the State of Roraima. |
