The genus consists of 44 species, 25 of them are described based only on nymphs, five based on adults, 13 based on nymphs and male imago, and one based on nymph and femele imago. Many species have large area of distribution, with location and longitudinal variation in characters historically considered important for the taxonomy of Baetidae. The genus consists of three morphotypes, which were never tested by phylogenetic analyzes, based on a scientific method, to test if these morphotypes are related, as well as was also never tested the proposal that Dactylobaetis Traver & Edmunds, 1968 was a junior synonym of Camelobaetidius. The aim of this study were: adapt/redescribe descriptions of some species of Camelobaetidius; describe unknown stages of previously known species; inventory the species of Camelobaetidius from different areas of Brazil; present a hypotheses of phylogenetic relationship between species of Camelobaetidius; test the monophyly of the genus based on formal phylogenetic analysis; and develop an identification key to the nymphs of the genus. In this study, the genus Camelobaetidius was considered paraphyletic; was proposed the description of two new genera; where described seven species of Camelobaetidius and one new species of Corinnella; was tested the genetic variability of Camelobaetidius billi based on Cytochrome Oxidase (COI) mitochondrial gene; two adults of the genus Camelobaetidius where described; has been updated the distribution record of the genus; was adequated a methodology for transport and rearing nymhps of Baetidae, and proposed a key to the species of genus Corinnella, New Genus B and Camelobaetidius. O exemplares do gênero Camelobaetidius Demoulin, 1966 são comuns em habitat de corredeiras, as ninfas podem ser encontradas sobre pedras ou em troncos caídos em regiões com corredeiras. Possui distribuição Pan Americana, sendo encontrado da Argentina até o Canadá. Atualmente é considerado grupo irmão do gênero Corinnella Thomas & Dominique, 2006. O gênero é composto por 44 espécies, destas, 25 são descritas com base apenas em ninfas, cinco com base em adultos, 13 com base em ninfas e imago macho e uma com base em ninfa e imago fêmea. Muitas espécies apresentam grande área de distribuição, com variação local e longitudinal em caracteres historicamente considerados importantes para a taxonomia de Baetidae. O gênero é composto por três morfótipos, sendo que nunca foram realizados análises filogenéticas que testassem, com base em um método científico, se esses morfótipos são relacionados, assim como nunca foi testada a proposta na qual Dactylobaetis Traver & Edmunds, 1968 foi considerado sinônimo júnior de Camelobaetidius. Os obejtivos desse estudo foram: Adequar/redescrever as descrições de algumas espécies de Camelobaetidius; descrever estágios desconhecidos de espécies previamente conhecidas; inventariar as espécies de Camelobaetidius de diversas áreas do Brasil; apresentar hipóteses de relacionamento filogenético entre as espécies de Camelobaetidius; testar a monofilia do gênero com base em análises filogenéticas formais; e elaborar uma chave de identificação para as ninfas das espécies do gênero.
