Anapolisia Piza, 1980 (Orthoptera, Tettigoniidae, Phaneropterinae, Microcentrini) is
characterized by its rounded head, forefemur sevenfold longer than wide and with hyaline bands
in tegmen. There are six known species: A. modesta Piza, 1980, A. micromargaritifera Piza,
1980, A. zonatum Giglio-Tos, 1838, A. colossea Brunner Vandervalnd, 1845, A. senta (Grant,
1960) and A. maculosa (Bowen-Jones, 2000). These are distributed from Costa Rica, in Central
America until the south region from Brazil. The current diagnosis of the genus is insufficient
and do not delimit the group boundaries, comprising also morphologically similar
Microcentrini genera. This taxonomic revision ofAnapolisia was made to solve these problems
and the study was based on type material of the described species, others specimens from
Brazilian and international collections, and literature. The specimens were examined under
stereomicroscope and posteriorly photographed with stereomicroscope attached with an
automontage system. There were examined 308 specimens from several localities from Costa
Rica, Colombia and Brazil. Two valid species remain in Anapolisia: Anapolisia modesta and
Anapolisia micromargaritifera. Eigth new species are described: Anapolisia amazonica sp.
nov.; Anapolisia atlantica sp. nov.; Anapolisia cerradensis sp. nov.; Anapolisia igapo sp. nov.;
Anapolisia ipixuna sp. nov.; Anapolisia mulata sp. nov.; Anapolisia picta sp. nov. and
Anapolisia riodoce sp. nov. Tropicophyllum Koçal & Kemal, 2008 previously an Anapolisia
synonym was revalidated along four species: Tropicophyllum zonatum (Giglio-Tos, 1898),
Tropicophyllum sentum (Grant, 1958), Tropicophyllum colosseum (Brunner von Wattenwyl,
1878) and Tropicophyllum maculosum (Bowen-Jones, 2000). It is also described the new
species T. pygmaeum sp. nov.. Furthermore, four new genera were described to Microcentrini:
Caauara gen. nov.; Capiguara gen. nov.; Hyalipenna gen. nov. e Tuaia gen. nov.; and seven
new species: Caauara pinima sp. nov.; Caauara cabocla sp. nov.; Capiguara trimaculata sp.
nov.; Capiguara betinho sp. nov.; Hyalipenna tetralineata sp. nov.; Tuaia sinuosa sp. nov. e
Tuaia poranga sp. nov.. There are provided identification keys for genera and species ,
diagnosis, descriptions or redescriptions, geographical records, illustrations, behavioral and
habitat notes. The male genitalia is presented to the group. The geographical distribution of the
genus is updated and it is discussed on the distribution of the amazonic species and theareas of
endemism. |
