Despite different authors having compared and assigned Traumatomutilla species to different species groups over the years, such groups have never been formally established. Adittionally most characteristics that define the species groups are based on highly variable setal and coloration patterns. Because of the outdated information regarding this group in the region and the importance of Traumatomutilla species as subjects for applied studies, the present study aimed to update the information regarding the taxonomy and geographical distribution of Traumatomutilla in the Brazilian Amazon as well as to establish the species groups within the genus using structural characteristics and listing the species belonging to each species groups. A species catalogue for the Brazilian Amazon based on the literature and specimens collected in the region is provided. An identification key for the Traumatomutilla species groups is also provided along with a brief diagnosis for each group and the species assigned to them. Five new species are described, and Traumatomutilla integella (Cresson, 1902), Traumatomutilla verecunda (Cresson, 1902) and Traumatomutilla tabapua Casal, 1969 are redescribed. Fourteen species groups were established within Traumatomutilla, including 121 of the 142 valid species and subespecies described based on the females. As well as the new species and species groups, 42 other species of Traumatomutilla were found, three of which are being recorded for the first in Brazil, ten are being recorded for the first time in the Brazilian Amazon and 23 have had their distribution in the region expanded. Com cerca de 200 espécies descritas, Traumatomutilla André, 1901 é um dos maiores gêneros de Mutillidae neotropicais, possuindo grande potencial como objeto para estudos evolutivos, biogeográficos e comportamentais. Excetuando as localidades-tipo das descrições originais, não existem dados a respeito da ocorrência das espécies desse gênero na Amazônia brasileira, e o último trabalho taxonômico sobre Traumatomutilla data de 1969. Apesar de diferentes autores compararem e agruparem as espécies do gênero em grupos de espécies ao longo dos anos, tais grupos nunca foram formalmente estabelecidos. Além disso, grande parte das características utilizadas para a definição dos grupos de espécies são padrões de manchas e cerdas sujeitos a variações extremas dentro de uma mesma espécie. Tendo em vista a defasagem de informações a respeito do grupo na região e a importância do mesmo como modelo para estudos aplicados, o presente trabalhou visou atualizar as informações a respeito da taxonomia e distribuição geográfica de Traumatomutilla com ênfase nas espécies da Amazônia brasileira, estabelecer os grupos de espécies do gênero com base em características estruturais e listar as espécies pertencentes a cada um dos grupos. O material analisados compreende todos os espécimes de Traumatomutilla coletados na região amazônica brasileira e depositados em diferentes coleções nacionais e internacionais. Para definição dos grupos de espécies e redescrições, foram analisados os holótipos e/ou parátipos de 55 das 142 espécies descritas com base nas fêmeas, além de extenso material de referência, contendo exemplares comparados com o holótipo e identificados por especialistas no gênero. Um catálogo comentado das espécies do gênero para Amazônia brasileira baseado na literatura e espécimes coletados na região é fornecido. Uma chave de identificação para os grupos de espécies é fornecida juntamente com uma breve diagnose de cada grupo e as espécies pertencentes ao mesmo. Cinco novas espécies são descritas, as espécies T. integella (Cresson, 1902), T. verecunda (Cresson, 1902) e T. tabapua Casal, 1969 são redescritas. São caracterizados 12 grupos de espécie para o gênero, englobando 1 21 das 142 espécies e subespécies válidas descritas com base nas fêmeas.
