Resumo:
This study aims to estimate the variability of continental water storage of the Amazon Basin using water balance method called PER, together with a model surface SLAND of medium complexity for evaluating the hydrology of the basin and relate to climatic events during the second half of the twentieth century. To analyze the hydrological extreme events, will use data from the GRACE satellites, to validate the estimated values of the mainland stock to the beginning of the XXI century. The estimated water supply will be the basis for the verification of scenarios on water balance impacts of climate change projected by the IPCC models. As a result of this work, conclude that the behavior of hydrological events in the Amazon basin, can be affected by ENSO, and the stock of continental water acts as an enhancer or attenuator of extreme hydrological phenomena.
