The Parks are Conservation Units legitimized by the government with the function of preserving natural ecosystems of great ecological significance and scenic beauty, and the public use of these public spaces is necessary for coexistence between visitor and nature. Its function is to connect the visitor to the place, creating greater awareness and appreciation of protected natural and cultural resources, and induce behavior change, increasing user satisfaction in relation to the protected area. Is the opportunity to contemplate landscapes and enable the education, environmental interpretation, tourism and recreation in the natural environment. The State of Amazonas, Brazil has 41 state conservation units under the management of the State Center for Conservation Units, totaling 18.8 million hectares of protected areas. The State Park Sumaúma with only 52.57 hectares, located in the urban area of Manaus, is a forest fragment, a result of popular mobilization, is the smallest unit of the State Conservation Units System and has strong appeal to public visitation. Provide public use is vital for its protection, enables better management of the area and fulfills its meets the objectives of creation.. His stimulus Stimulating this use allows greater involvement of schools and and communities around the area. The current environmental context requires that cities The current environmental context requires that cities have programs that help to fight exclusion, promote programs to help the fight exclusion, improve life quality, reduce waste and pollution and improve the use of environmental resources and energy, the Sumaúma Park represents an opportunity for environmental education, functioning as a sort of park-school, involving the community and surrounding schools in its preservation. The public use of a park should always combine proper management with protection of the area, adequate infrastructure and trained personnel to operate. This work was conspicuous by performing diagnosis for public use, identifying infrastructure needs, its attributes of interest to visitors, proposing its organization, aiming its proper management. The research was conducted with literature about public use in protected areas, urban park, environmental education and interpretation, tourism management and analysis of documents related to the administration of the State Park Sumaúma such as: meeting minutes, technical reports, maps, other studies, the Management Plan and field survey in Sumaúma Park trails. |
