With population growth and the accentuation of environmental degradation, new law
and constitutional aspects ensured tools that foment the mitigation of impacts caused
by human interaction with the environment. In an attempt to protect and conserve
natural resources, the practice of public education policies ensures a fundamental
prism preventive vision held by public authorities, mainly through environmental
education, and aim for reflecting an awareness in the different education levels,
surpassing the academic limits and allowing the performance of new educational
agents, through a direct interaction with the community, transmitting an empirical
knowledge, local and traditional within the protected areas. However, due to the
significant population mass present in large urban centers, it is almost meaningless,
centralized environmental education by a single managing agency and should allow,
at the municipal level, the interaction of all the actors responsible for the protection of
public property, especially for the preventive action of institutions such as the
Municipal Guard of Manaus, responsible, including the urban environment, as
provided by the Organic Law of the Municipality, which asserts the formation of a
specialized body to safeguard the environmental heritage and legally enables the
formation of agents educators within the Municipal Protected Areas. This paper aims
to make an analysis of the environmental scenario focused on educational activities
developed by municipal institutions within the Conservation Units while proposing a
partnership with the Municipal Environment and Sustainability and the Municipal
Guard of Manaus. The study was developed using data collected on site, interviews
with managers of Mindu Park and Springs of Mindu Park, director of the Municipal
Guard, municipal guards and Municipal Secretary of Environment and Sustainability,
as well as laws and doctrines were used for legal and theoretical foundation to a draft
of a memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation between the involved
municipal organizations. |
