Camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia) is a woody shrub belonging to the Myrtaceae family, that has high economic potential due to the high content of ascorbic acid in its fruits. The species has difficulty rooting cuttings, even when subjected to an action of phytoregulators. The use of juvenile materials is indicated to species of difficult rooting and the use of epicormic shoots is a technique that can be used in the rescue of adult plants. Given the above, this study aimed to evaluate the emission of epicormic shoots in detached branches, as well as the cloning of camu-camu from mini-cuttings of these shoots. Six experiments were installed, the first three related to the emission of epicormic shoots, while the others referred to a mini-cutting from the shoots obtained. In experiment 1, were used basal branches from ten stock plants, sectioned into 40 cm stems and stratified according to branch position (0-40 cm; 40-80 cm; 80-120 cm; 120-160 cm; and 160-200 cm). In experiment 2, were used branches of four stock plants, sectioned on 40 cm stems, with two diameters (26 mm and 46 mm). In experiment 3, were used branches of eight stock plants and made with 20 cm long, planted on two substrates. In these experiments were evaluated the number of shoots, shoot speed index and average shoots time. In experiment 4, standardized mini-cuttings with two pairs of leaves (or knots) were made. In experiment 5, mini-cuttings were made, with two pairs of leaves, of two types (basal and upper) and treated with different types of indolbutyric acid (0, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mg kg-1). In experiment 6, confection mini-cuttings, with two pairs of leaves, subjecting them to substrate with and without hidroretentor polymer, maintained in two environments (mini greenhouse and intermittent misty). In these, were evaluated survival, rooting, the presence of callus and sprouts. Vegetative rescue by epicormic shoots in mega-cuttings and cuttings on detached branch stems has potential application for clonal propagation of camu-camu. The number and shoot speed vary depending on the stock plants, from 0.7 to 28.5 and 0.03 to 0.66, respectively. Adventitious rooting is not influenced by the application of indolbutyric acid, and the mini cuttings of the basal portion of the shoot have higher rooting. The environment with intermittent mist atmosphere is best suited for propagation by mini-cutting of camu-camu. |
