Resumo:
This study investigated germination percentage of seeds oh Copaifera multijuga Hayne collected in the Adolfo Ducke Forest Reserve near Manaus in the state of Amazonas. Germination was tested at room temperature and under refrigeration txeated with Benlate (0.1% and 0.2%). Biochemical composition of the seeds was also studied. After 30 days of storage seed viabitity dropped more in the unrefrigerated seeds than in the refrigerated ones. Biochemical assays of starch, lipids, proteins and sugars showed that starch is the dominant energy storage product, both in the tegument and in the cotyledons.
