Thirty five soil samples taken at monthly intervals between April and December of 1972 (total 315 samples) from urban zone of Manaus, Amazonas (Brazil), were used for the isolation of keratinophilic fungi. By Vanbreuseghem's biological method 29 Microsporum gypseum (9,21%), 10 Trichophyton mentagrophytes (3,17%) and 30 Chrysosporium tropicum (9,52%) were isolated. Soil fungi frequency was also correlated with ambient temperature and rainfall.", 'en |
