This study had to objective evaluate the germination and the vigor Solanum sessiliflorum seeds, under different storage conditions (packages, moisture contents - m.c. and temperatures). It was developing in two independent experiments, carried at the seed laboratory and in the nursery of the Coordination of Researches in Agronomic Sciences, of the National Institute of Amazon Research, in Manaus (AM).
In one experiment, seeds with 8% m.c. were stored in different packings (paper bag, plastic bags, hermetic glass bottle) and temperatures (26°C, 20°C, 10°C and 5°C),
during different periods (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 month). The design was entirely randomized, in factoring outline, 3 x 4 x 7, with four repetitions. In another, the seeds with different moisture content (12%,10% and 8%) were stored in hermetic glass bottle under different temperature (-18°C, 5°C, 20°C and 26°C environment), during month (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12). It was also entirely randomized, in factoring outline, 3
x 4 x 7, with four repetitions. In both tests it had interaction effect among the studied factors. Without affecting the germination and vigor, Solanum sessiliflorum seeds be able to storage during 12 months under conditions: with moisture content of 8%, in recipient permeable (paper bag) and semipermeable (plastic bags), since that they are maintained in 10°C or 5°C temperatures, and with relative moisture below of 50%; with moisture content of 8%, in hermetic recipient (hermetic glass bottle), independent of the storage temperature (26°C, 20°C, 10°C, 5°C and); with moisture content of 12%, in hermetic recipient, under 5°C; with moisture content of 10%, in hermetic recipient, under 20°C and 5°C. |
