The study aimed to assess the challenges and opportunities of the productive chain of orange in agricultural areas and marketing in the municipalities of Iranduba, Manacapuru, Manaus and Rio Preto da Eva. Orange is important for the vitamin "C". Emphasis was placed for qualitative research, and exploratory. The field research was carried out with interviews using forms based on each group to determine the vulnerable areas of production, distribution and storage, marketing and orange consumption in the areas of producers in marketing sites with vendors and end users. The data analysis was made using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The results indicate that the main obstacles are related to the production, due to lack of technical support services, problems of pests and diseases. There are problems for marketing due to infrastructure with vicinal in precarious conditions, hindering the flow and the sale of products to end consumers the most attractive prices and the existence of only one variety of the orange 'Pear-river', with commercial value. Thus, there is intense participation of intermediaries in the supply of wholesale trade throughout the year, the supply of orange to the markets, fairs, supermarket chains, restaurants and more. Orange production chain has high demand of the consumer market for the whole population of children to the elderly in the city of Manaus. Producers are interested in expanding the orange groves in the municipalities surveyed (Rio Preto da Eva, Iranduba, Manacapuru, Manaus) in the state of Amazonas. From a theoretical point of view it is concluded that the production chain Orange has all the links necessary for the proper progress of the chain and noting that the infrastructure problems for the market of orange, are perceived mainly by producers in the development of "agriculture family ". |
