The organic waste produced in the city of Manaus - Amazon has become a major aesthetic and environmental problem for the city. These wastes are commonly found in public areas especially in the vicinity of fairs, and serve as a food source for rodents and insects that are in this material an easy source of food. The material is collected by the collection of municipal waste is taken to the municipal landfill, where it becomes an environmental problem. An alternative to the reuse of this organic material is composted, turning into an alternative source of fertilizer chemical that is mostly used in agriculture on crops in general. Thus, this process can greatly reduce the cost of inputs used for fertilization of vegetables as in ornamental plants found in the gardens and city squares. This study aimed to evaluate the nutritional quality of organic compound produced in static and crimped piles, and its effect on the commercial quality of American style Kaiser lettuce, and thus create the basis for further research involving the use of urban organic waste in order to reduce economic expenditures and reduce environmental damage. |
