The city of Parintins-AM, on the right bank of the Amazon River, 369 km from Manaus, is known nationally and internationally by the cultural movement of the Folkloric Festival that takes place in June between the cattle "Garantido" and "Caprichoso", receiving in that period various visitors. The research object Balneário Cantagalo, located at the end of the Estrada do Aninga, rural area of the municipality is the only place in the city that counts on spaces that provide leisure for its visitors like: a pier, sand courts for football and volleyball, services bar, restaurant and snack bar, stage for concerts and forest for camping. The research elucidated from the history of the creation of this space, questions concerning the environmental impact in the bulge of the concept of leisure. At the same time as it receives visitors from bathers and tourists, the site also suffers from the impacts caused by anthropic action over its entire extension, such as pollution of Lake Aninga, erosion of the banks and large amount of solid waste, which justifies the studies like this one. As a method we opted for the bibliographic review, application of the Rapid Assessment Protocol (RAP), interviews. The results show that the natural characteristic of the study area has been altered under the influence of tourism activities, and there is no environmental education program developed to minimize the environmental impacts at Balneário Cantagalo. |
