A pergunta que norteia essa pesquisa refere-se a uma afirmação feita pela historiadora da psicanálise na França, a senhora Roudinesco, que numa entrevista não hesitou em dizer: “Em nossos dias, Marie Bonaparte teria sido uma especialista em matéria de transexualidade”. Então, em que medida podemos considerar a princesa Marie uma perita no tema da transexualidade? No intuito de rastrear os possíveis fundamentos epistemológicos na obra bonaparteana que possam servir de batuta para uma afirmação dessa envergadura, fez-se necessário identificar o biologismo em psicanálise, além de apresentar alguns dos seus principais mentores cujos estudos estavam relacionados às pesquisas biológicas da sua época, dentre eles o próprio S. Freud, considerado por muitos como o biólogo da alma. Por fim, encontramos nas pesquisas de Bonaparte sobre a sexualidade da mulher a tese da causa anatômica da frigidez e a cirurgia Halban-Narjani, mas será na elaboração do conceito de falo passivo que descobrimos o aspecto da psicanálise bonpaparteana que mais aproxima a obra autora do tema da transexualidade. No entanto, concluímos afirmando que não podemos considerar Bonaparte uma especialista em matéria de transexualidade, uma vez que, somos nós, leitores do século XXI, que atribuímos a relevância desse conceito para esse campo de estudo e não uma intenção genuína da autora. The question that guides this research refers to a statement made by the historian of psychoanalysis in France, Mrs. Roudinesco, who in an interview did not hesitate to say: “In our day, Marie Bonaparte would have been an expert in the field of transsexuality ”. So, to what extent can we consider Princess Marie an expert on the subject of transsexuality? In order to trace the possible epistemological foundations in Bonapartean work that can serve as a baton for an affirmation of this scope, it was necessary to identify biology in psychoanalysis, in addition to presenting some of its main mentors whose research was related to the biological research of his time, among them S. Freud himself, considered by many to be the soul biologist. Finally, in Bonaparte's research on women's sexuality we find the thesis of the anatomical cause of frigidity and Halban-Narjani surgery, but it is in the elaboration of the concept of passive phallus that we find the aspect of Bonpapartean psychoanalysis that brings the author's work closer to the theme of transsexuality.
