Resumo:
For the psychodynamics of work, suffering is inherent in the work process, the feelings of pleasure and pain generated from the forms of organization of work and the way in which workers face positive and negative situations resulting from the work context through defensive strategies. This study aimed to identify possible factors that provide pleasure and which result in risks of pathogenic suffering to servers, as well as to describe the defensive strategies used to mediate suffering in their daily work according to the Theory of Work Psychodynamics. The target audience of the research was composed of administrative technician servers gazetted and crowded at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Campus Palmas Tocantins. It was used as a data collection tool a questionnaire survey of demographic data, besides a Scale from the Prescribed Organization of Labor (EOPT), responsible for investigating the characteristic of the prescribed organization work and the scale of Pathogenic Suffering on Job (ESPT), which allowed to identify the risk of pathogenic suffering -both components of the Protocol Assessment of Psychosocial Risks at Work (PROART). In addition to capture possible defensive strategies was applied content analysis on the answers of the open questions. For the EOPT, the results point to a psychosocial risk of mid-level and they showed that the division of labor factor is more troubling and causes most dissatisfaction in the researched servers than the social division factor of work and this risk reveals an alert to an extreme situation that demands and needs, in the short and medium term, the intervention by the institution to enhance and increase the positive indicators and minimize the effects of negative indicators. For ESPT, the risk presented was overall considered positive, representing low psychosocial risk for the occurrence of pathogenic suffering, with a predominance the experiences of pleasure. Factors of meaninglessness and lack of recognition at work showed low-level psychosocial risks revealing thus the need for maintenance, consolidation and enhancement of the positive aspects. On the other hand, the Mental Exhaustion has disclosed results that indicate a medium risk to the occurrence of pathogenic suffering. The crossing between socio-demographic groups with the results of the scales showed significant differences in the variables marital status, education, age and time in office. The study pointed to the use of protective and adaptive defenses, characterized with postures of indifferently, accommodation, compensation, isolation and dialogue front to adversity. Thus, we conclude that the working environment provides feelings of pleasure, but also indicates the presence of suffering. In this case, the servers use defensive strategies to soften the suffering reality. Finally, we propose some suggestions aimed at promoting the quality of life of the studied public.
