It aims to analyze how the main Brazilian printed newspapers (Folha de São Paulo, O Globo, the state of São Paulo and the economic value), locus of realization of economic journalism in Brazil, approached the welfare. We sought to understand whether the aforementioned newspapers, when working on this theme, favored a certain model over the other. For this, we are considering the existence of two models: capitalization and the simple distribution. We gathered the set of reports analyzed from three periods: 1998 (Approval of the reform of Fernando Henrique Cardoso), 2003 (Approval of the reform of Luís Inácio Lula da Silva) and August 2016 to July 2017 (discussion of Michel Temer's proposal). When analyzing the reports we seek to identify the framing, voices and symbolic producers. In relation to the symbolic producers, we found that there was homogeneity, since in all the newspapers the highest concentration category was that of the journalistic field. Already in front of the set of frameworks, the negotiations of the pension reforms represented by the ENERE category, had more highlights in its entirety. The analysis of the voices did not present homogeneous results. We observed a high quantity of subjects that did not present voices. Those who presented, had the most expressive categories linked to parliamentarians and the financial market. In general, he emphasized more frameworks and voices linked to the capitalization model.
