This work has as main objective to analyze how it happens the teaching of arts in an urban
school in the city of Tocantinópolis-TO and in a school of the countryside located in Piaçava-
TO, that is located to approximately 45km (kilometers) of the city of Tocantinópolis. The
research was carried out in two different municipalities due to the fact that there are no rural
schools that attend the stage of elementary education II where I intended to carry it out in the
municipality where I live. It has as methodological procedures the research of qualitative
approach, of exploratory nature. As data collection instruments, the direct observation of the
arts classes of these two schools and semi-structured questionnaires with the teachers who
taught in this discipline of the mentioned schools were used. Among some results, I found a
certain devaluation of the teaching of arts in the school context and the lack of importance of
the art for the students, for the majority of them of the urban school. Art is still seen by many
as basically just drawing and painting, as well as at times as "leisure", and for these reasons
students enjoy art classes, as they find it an easy discipline, which they only draw and do not
disapprove. The teaching of arts of the urban school could work with differentiated
methodologies that allow the student to interact with the artistic work, important for the
teaching-learning process and this student to have a critical and reflective thought, since these
classes are worked of traditional way. Unlike the urban school, in the rural school the teacher,
even without training to work with the teaching of the arts, seeks methodologies focused on
the reality of learners, with materials that are in their day to day life in the countryside,
causing them to become interact with this artistic work. |
