Resumo:
The present study evaluated the structure and pattern of specialization of the export sector of the State of Bahia, identifying comparative advantages and their concentration indexes and their destinations from 2010 to 2018. As a methodology, international trade indicators were calculated. Bahia through the Revealed Comparative Advantage (VCR) and the Gini-Hirchman Coefficient (Concentration Index of Products and Export Destinations). The results revealed that within the ten product segments analyzed from those calculated with VCR, six obtained comparative advantages over the entire analysis period, among them the Cocoa and Pulp, Paper and Pulp, Precise Metals, Cotton and Derivatives, Chemicals, Metallurgists and Soybeans and derivatives this last one is a specific case, because in 2013 and 2016 it presented disadvantages due to drought problems that compromised the harvests. Regarding the results of the Gini-Hirchman Coefficient, the concentration indices showed that the State of Bahia has a low degree of concentration of products exported with PCI that varied slightly from 0.350 in 2010 to 0.364 in 2018, the effect is justified by the product tariff. be diversified, and the state has a productive structure that does not depend on a single segment, thus there is a certain variation between Manufactured, Semi-manufactured and Basic Products. When considering exports by destination, DCI was also considered to be poorly concentrated due to the greater variety of Bahian destination countries, although the index increased during the period analyzed, increased from 0.282 in 2010 and reached its peak. in 2018 with an ICD of 0.380, still considered deconcentrated.
