This article aimed to present the concepts of processing and export zone, popularly called ZPE`s, in fact the city of Araguaína - TO. The proposed objective for the study was a comparative study between the information that the state government agencies talk about the ZPE`s and its effective implementation in the District Agro Industrial municipality of Araguaína - Daiara. For the development of this work we used the literature, documental and field research. When the form, research is classified as qualitative research. The results generated by the research show that, unlike the description provided in the governing body, the ZPE Araguaína is completely disabled, and operating without any prospect, which negatively influences the generation of employment and income in the region, in place spectrum, and does not fulfill its primary role It is the inducing agent of the local industry.
