Resumo:
The teaching and learning process in the classroom in geography classes requires didactic- methodological mechanism that assists in the relationship of content with the space of experience and understanding the relationships of the geographic space. For this, root country music, as a methodological resource, for the geography classes of Brazil as a narrative element of living in the relationship of the field subject with geographic space would strengthen the teaching process and local identity. The methodological proposal of geography teaching through root country music can lead the student to a reflexive posture in front of the content. Because this methodology can relate your experience to the globalized world. Therefore, it is necessary that the subject recognizes himself belonging to an identity linked to the environment. We believe that the social representations of traits reflected by local reality through memory, makes it possible to think about the memory of the absent in the present memory. And root country music with elements described in the composition of letters and melodic style bring elements of the geographic, social and historical space that associated with student memory influences the teaching and learning process. Associating the elements of cultural identity we can build a dialogue between root country music and content of high school geography. Therefore, the proposal to work with the use of root country music in the discipline of high school geography at Cel College. José Francisco de Azevedo in Conceição do Tocantins demonstrates how much the social memory of the students, who are or are connected to the field identify them in local collective memory, since music is a key piece for them to activate their memories. And with this qualitative action research based on the subject highlights how much the subject's personal memory needs to be part of the school educational space.
