Technology-based and innovative companies are in a process of greater recognition due to their
important role in the country's economic development. However, such enterprises need a favorable
environment for their emergence and development from new business models. In this sense, this
dissertation analyzed the impact of economic, social and technological indicators in the process of
creating innovative environments for these technology-based companies in the context of the State of
Tocantins. For this purpose, a detailed survey was conducted on the main quantitative and qualitative
indicators to characterize the infrastructure used for the development of this environment, as well as the
characterization of the context of application of this work in relation to the presence of technology-based
companies and economic, social and technological indicators. Therefore, a mechanism was developed
to visualize the information with such indicators, allowing a visual analysis of the regions and main
structural characteristics related to the development of such enterprises in the State of Tocantins. For
the development of this work, the inductive research approach was adopted for data capture and analysis.
The methodological procedures structured in five stages were adopted, consisting of a survey of data
sources related to the theme of studies, data collection, data extraction, information cross-checking and
geospatial analysis of technology-based enterprises and their main relationships and patterns obtained
from an exploratory analysis based on the objectives outlined in the research. At the end, this work
highlights the common characterization among the municipalities that present technology-based
ventures, with emphasis on their economic, social and technological indicators, related to other
municipalities that have similar characteristics, which have potential for development of innovation
environments.
