It has been reported in the literature that hypertensive individuals who exercise autonomously do not have a significant reduction in blood pressure. However, if they are inserted in a program with the accompaniment of Physical Education teachers, the same phenomenon also happens, it was still something unknown. The aim of this article was to analyze the blood pressure response of hypertensive patients regarding the exercise performed with monitoring by Physical Education professionals during three months of observation. This is an observational, quantitative study, from which this study was derived with a transversal cut. Ten hypertensive patients participated, five of whom were female, middle-aged between 45 and 59 years old, who practiced physical exercise at the Academia da Melhor Idade (AMI). Blood pressure was recorded daily in April, May and June 2018. One-way ANOVA was used. As a result, hypertensive patients did not show a significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure over the months of observation. It is concluded that hypertensive participants in an exercise program do not statistically significantly reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure. |
