Resumo:
The games are artistic, aesthetic, interdisciplinary, a hybrid, poly and metamorphic field that involve scriptable navigability programming, interface design, animation techniques, usability. This is a research work carried out in the Post Graduate Program in Education (PPGE / UFT). The objective was to understand the role that RPG games play in the contemporary cyber world, as well as their academic production in Brazil. Currently, games are characterized by their intermediary nature, that is, the conversation of games with other media, such as films. Based on this assumption, we conducted a Bibliographical Research for theoretical review, presenting important aspects of the history of RPG in Brazil and in the world. Another step was to relate RPG to education. Our research problem was delimited around the question: what research has been developed in Brazil? What discussion can we take from the initial observation of the research data? The theoretical framework was based on contributions from Cognitive Linguistics (JOHNSON, 1987; CREPALDE, 2014) and Complex Thinking (EDGAR MORIN, 1995, 2007), and on works on RPG and Games (SARAH BOWMAN, 2017), (EDSON CUPERTINO, 2008), (WAGNER SCHIMIT, 2008), (JOSÉ P. ZAGAL; SEBASTIAN DETERDING, 2018), (LÚCIA SANTAELLA, 2007). Our results indicate that without an observation of the parameters that make up, or rather, the mechanisms of RPG and its in-depth study can lead to configuring RPG as a false novelty, despite its liquid languages. Finally, we reflect briefly on what we call the potentialities of RPG that determine basic paths for the epistemological discussion of the present research object.
