The present work deals with the objective to show a discussion about the role of remembrance
concerning to the expression of the lyric poetry of Ancient Greece. The reflections to be made
in this work will try to comprehend the function of remembrance in the lyric expression of the
7th century b.C, especially the one of Sappho of Lesbos. Besides, we will approach about the
meaning of the remembrance in this context of time and in what sense it makes some influence
after the author’s age. The choose of this theme is due to our interest to the lyric poetry of
ancient Greece in general as a pioneer poetry of the West as a whole. The discussion about the
poetics of Sappho of Lesbos implies to think about her collaboration to the poetry of her time.
This writer was one of the principal feminine figures of the ancient Greece. |
