The study initially addresses the issue of hearing loss and the education of the Deaf in the country. The text then discusses possible proposals for teaching the Portuguese language to deaf people as a second language. Highlighting the process of language acquisition by the deaf child, emphasizing how this development occurs in certain stages of life and how the school can help and develop this learning. The main bibliographic sources used were Quadros (1997), Pereira (2014), Skliar (1997). It is concluded that the teaching of Portuguese as L2 through LIBRAS, is still recent, but with positive results in schools, as these are already involving the deaf student in this process as soon as there is learning from LIBRAS, however it is not necessarily a factor determinant that there is a right age for learning L2, since there are several factors that can interfere positive or negatively in this learning, such as the way in which the hearing impaired student is inserted into the teaching and learning process. Keywords: LIBRAS; Deafness; Portuguese Language O presente trabalho é fruto de uma pesquisa de cunho bibliográfico que buscou analisar se a aquisição tardia da LIBRAS pode interferir no aprendizado e desenvolvimento da L2, Língua Portuguesa na modalidade escrita, por alunos surdos. O estudo aborda inicialmente a temática relativa à surdez e a educação de Surdos no país. Em seguida o texto discorre acerca de possíveis propostas de ensino da Língua Portuguesa para surdos como segunda língua. Destacando o processo de aquisição da linguagem pela criança surda, enfatizando como esse desenvolvimento ocorre em determinadas etapas da vida e como a escola pode auxiliar e desenvolver esse aprendizado. As principais fontes bibliográficas utilizadas foram Quadros (1997), Pereira (2014), Barros (2017), Skliar (1997). Conclui-se que o ensino de português como L2 através da LIBRAS, ainda é recente, mas com resultados positivos nas escolas, pois estas já estão envolvendo os alunos surdos nesse processo assim que há o aprendizado da LIBRAS, porém não é necessariamente um fator determinante que há uma idade certa para o aprendizado da L2, já que são vários fatores que podem interferir positiva ou negativamente nessa aprendizagem, como maneira de inserção do aluno com surdez no processo de ensino e aprendizagem 2021-05-30T01:31:54Z 2021-05-30T01:31:54Z 2021-05-29 Artigo CARDOSO, Claudiane Oliveira.
