Resumo:
This final project focuses on language variation in Libras, considering the cities of Florianópolis and Palmas. This research presents how the Libras variation happens those places. If there are communication barriers when a deaf person talks to another deaf person, this problem may be related to the language variation in Libras. Each group of the deaf has accustomed to its traditional culture and the arbitrary signs they use. But communication in Libras is possible with some variations. We intend to check the meaning of the signs according to their language variation. The language variation and the Libras corpus challenge me to reflect: "Why does exist different signs (with the same meaning) between the cities Florianópolis and Palmas?" There were chosen two different deaf signers in the UFSC Corpus website. Besides I asked some questions to those participants via a video calling app. Thesigns focused were: the colors BLUE and GREEN; and the WATERMELON, GUAVA and APPLE fruits. These signs were chosen because they tend to have more language variation.
