Resumo:
The case study aimed to measure the daily weight gain of the animals and the economic viability of the pasture-supplement system with different levels of crude protein. The case study was divided into four different supplements, the control, based on macro and micro minerals - MM, and three more isoenergetic supplements, with variable protein content, 15% of CP, 25% of CP and 35% of CP. 36 non-castrated calves in breeding, with an initial weight of 231.69 kg, were used, and six animals were used per repetition. The case study was conducted from December 1st to February 24th. The animals that received mineral supplement and protein supplement with 35% of crude protein obtained greater weight gain, and consequently greater productivity by area, thus obtaining greater revenue in the period of 85 days. Supplementation with different levels of crude protein in the water period does not influence the daily weight gain of grazing animals. However, it is important to continue evaluations of carcass production to elucidate this result.
