The present study aimed to identify corn cultivars in terms of efficiency and response to the use of phosphate fertilizers in the southern region of the state of Pará. Two experiments were carried out, at low P (50 kg ha-1) and at high P (200 kg ha-1), with randomized blocks, three replications and fourteen cultivars. The characteristics studied were ear diameter, ear length, number of grain rows, number of grains per row, ear weight and grain yield. The highest averages of efficiency and response were: 8710 kg ha-1 and 29.78 kg ha-1. The cultivars efficient for the use of phosphorus were: ORION, BR 2022, CR 120, AL BANDEIRANTE, M 274, BRS 3046 and AG 8088. The responsives considered were BM 3061, BR206, CATIVERDE 02, BR 205, ANHEMBI, BR 2022 and BRS 3046. The cultivar BR 2022 showed high efficiency and response to the use of phosphorus.
