Resumo:
Several strategies can be used to minimize the effects of reduced productivity of pastures during the dry period of the year, among them there is the deferral of pasture, which consists of selecting a certain area of pasture and excluding it from grazing at the end of the rainy season, for grazing by animals in the dry season. Among the nutrients studied in association with grazing, nitrogen has been the main object of study for researchers. However, any nutrient that is deficient in the plant may impair its performance, and this is no different for forages. Associated with this, the availability of phosphorus is considered one of the main problems for plant performance in tropical regions such as Brazil, since it is found in low availability in these soils. This literature review aims to carry out a survey of information that seeks to address the use and practice of pasture fertilization to increase productivity during the deferral of pasture, it can be observed the importance of deferral of pasture as a practice to mitigate the effect of seasonality on productivity of pastures.
