This study is based on reflections on male activities in early childhood education, based on and related to gender issues, having as a problem, identify what are the possible reasons for the smaller number of male teachers working in early childhood education? Its main objective is to discuss the profile that was established to work in early childhood education, reflecting on the prejudices, paradigms and stereotypes that surround this profession and its professionals. Seeking to understand and discuss the hegemonic notions adopted in early childhood education, it dialogues with ideas and studies by authors such as Kramer (1987), Freire (1993), Sayão (2005), Ramos (2011), Louro (2012) and others. The research is qualitative, which makes it possible to analyze the subjectivities of those involved, thus, it was decided to apply a semi-structured questionnaire as a research instrument. The questionnaires were directed to students in the Pedagogy course at the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT), Campus Arraias, to professionals in early childhood education in the municipal education network in Arraias and also to parents and / or guardians of students in early childhood education in same institution. After the presentation and discussion of the results, some considerations related to this research are highlighted, in which, they point to the need to change the standards established by society that have permeated the entire history, thus providing a liberation from the stereotypes and paradigms that condition and deprive women and men to hold office because of their gender and/or sexuality. Diversos são os preconceitos e estereótipos produzidos e reproduzidos diariamente pela sociedade, e grande parte destes estereótipos são legitimados e reproduzidos nas escolas. Este estudo parte de reflexões acerca da atuação masculina na educação infantil, pautado e relacionado com as questões de gênero, tendo por problemática, identificar quais os possíveis motivos para o quantitativo menor de professores homens atuando na educação infantil? Tem por objetivo central discutir sobre o perfil que foi estabelecido para atuação na educação infantil, refletindo sobre os preconceitos, os paradigmas e estereótipos que cercam esta profissão e seus profissionais. Buscando compreender e discutir as noções hegemônicas adotadas na educação infantil, dialoga-se com ideias e estudos de autores como Kramer (1987), Freire (1993), Sayão (2005), Ramos (2011), Louro (2012) e outros. A pesquisa é de abordagem qualitativa, a qual, possibilita a análise das subjetividades dos envolvidos, assim, optou-se pela aplicação de questionário semiestruturado como instrumento de pesquisa. Os questionários foram direcionados a alunos do curso de Pedagogia da Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT), Campus Arraias, para profissionais da educação infantil da rede municipal de ensino de Arraias e também para pais e/ou responsáveis de alunos da educação infantil da mesma instituição. Após a exposição e discussão dos resultados, destacam-se algumas considerações referentes a esta pesquisa, as quais, apontam a necessidade de alteração nos padrões estabelecidos pela sociedade que perpassaram toda a história, propiciando assim, uma libertação dos estereótipos e paradigmas que condicionam e privam mulheres e homens de exercerem cargos por causa do seu gênero e/ou sexualidade. 2021-11-18T12:18:10Z 2021-11-18T12:18:10Z 2021-03-27 Monografia BARBOSA, Rafael Rodrigues.
