Therefore, the community's belief in plant resources is evident as an alternative to the treatment of various common diseases and illnesses. However, this article aims to answer the following question: How is this popular education of medicinal knowledge passed down from generation to generation in this Kalunga community. How do people in this community use these plants. For the accomplishment of this research a bibliographical research was realized to have a basis of the proposed theme through books, internet research, articles, among others. In which it had as theoretical support authors such as Brandão (2009), Cavaglier (2014), Freire (2005), Leite (1999), Oliveira (2017), who contributed to its foundation. The research method is a qualitative research, for this was done a field research in the Quilombola Kalunga do Mimoso Community. Information about the community was obtained through interviews with their residents, where observations, interviews, conversations and photos were conducted to carry out the studies. The work achieved reached the objective of reporting the use of medicinal plants by the community under study and it can be seen that all interviewed families use medicinal plants and that they are very important since the community does not have easy access to conventional medicines. O artigo traz elementos relevantes acerca da identidade e cultura de um povo, com o objetivo de pesquisar e conhecer como se deu o processo de construção da comunidade (sua trajetória), costumes, valores e crenças, fazendo um levantamento das espécies vegetais utilizadas para fins medicinais na comunidade quilombola Kalunga do Mimoso no município de Arraias - TO. Portanto, é evidente a crença da comunidade nos recursos vegetais como alternativa para o tratamento de várias enfermidades e doenças mais comuns. Contudo, este artigo visa responder a seguinte questão problema: Como se dá essa educação popular dos saberes medicinais que são passados de geração em geração nessa comunidade Kalunga? Como as pessoas desta comunidade utilizam essas plantas? Para a realização desta pesquisa realizou - se uma pesquisa bibliográfica para se ter um embasamento do tema proposto através de livros, pesquisas em internet, artigos, entre outros. No qual teve como subsídio teórico de autores como Brandão (2009), Cavaglier (2014), Freire (2005), Leite (1999), Oliveira (2017), que contribuíram para a fundamentação do mesmo. O método da pesquisa é uma pesquisa de caráter qualitativo, para isso foi feito uma pesquisa de campo na Comunidade Quilombola Kalunga do Mimoso. As informações sobre a comunidade foram obtidas através de entrevistas realizadas com os moradores das mesmas, onde para proceder aos estudos foi feita observações, entrevistas, roda de conversas e fotos. O trabalho realizado atingiu o objetivo de relatar a utilização de plantas medicinais pela comunidade em estudo e pode-se perceber que todas as famílias entrevistadas utilizam plantas medicinais e que as mesmas são importantíssimas já que a comunidade não tem fácil acesso aos medicamentos convencionais. 2021-11-19T17:14:06Z 2021-11-19T17:14:06Z 2019-11-28 Monografia SOARES, Valdirene Curcino Rodrigues.
