Resumo:
The concept of performance is of paramount importance when it comes to meeting user requirements in civil construction. This is because a building with satisfactory performance is one that meets the objectives and minimum requirements for which it was designed. Therefore, worrying about performance when designing a building is primarily to think about the well- being of the inhabitants. Thus, the thermo-acoustic comfort of a property capable of meeting the minimum performance requirements significantly contributes to the owner's satisfaction, bringing benefits even for their physical and mental health. In this context, the ABNT NBR 15575:2013 performance standard was developed in an attempt to establish minimum performance criteria that buildings must meet, aiming to provide more safety, comfort and economy to the user, in addition to being an important means to measure the level of performance that the building is capable of achieving. In the present work, we sought to analyze the thermo-acoustic comfort of a building built in structural masonry with the use of ceramic blocks in Palmas/TO. The result obtained from the study was that the building did not present the minimum performance required by the standard in any of the two criteria analyzed. As for thermal comfort, the maximum internal temperature on the day of verification was 33.4 °C while the maximum external temperature was 33.0 °C. For acoustic comfort, the measured DnT,w was 40 dB, while the performance standard determines it to be at least 45 dB for the situation analyzed. It is concluded, therefore, that there is a need to seek ways to improve the performance and comfort of buildings in general, dedicating greater attention to this situation at the time of designing the property.
