Resumo:
Globalized agribusiness has been spatialized in the Agribusiness Productive Region (RPAS), and a delimitation proposed by Elias (2015), focused on grain production in an area that covers West Bahia, South Maranhão and Piauí, in addition to the state of Tocantins. The RPA refunctionalizes agrarian spaces, creating a network of fixed and flows aimed at agricultural production, which settle in cities that become agribusiness cities. Agribusiness cities create a centrality and functionality linking the global scale with the local scale. This work aims to identify agribusiness companies located in Porto Nacional and characterize their scales of action. For this, reflections were carried out on the agricultural modernization process in Porto Nacional. The methodology adopted was: bibliographic surveys in articles, dissertations, websites, books etc. Secondary data, which made it possible to characterize agribusiness companies located in the city of Porto Nacional, were obtained from their websites. The primary data referring to the location of the companies presented here were obtained in field work. For the elaboration of the maps, the free software QGIS, version 3.10, was used. In this procedure, data from the IBGE, the municipal planning department and Google Satellite were used. This research made it possible to identify companies to characterize the scale of action produced by the implementation and advancement of globalized agribusiness.
