This Monography is the result of an ethnographic research developed in the Feira Livre (Free
Fair) of the city of Porto Franco, in the countryside of the state of Maranhão. Our main
objective is to understand the personal trajectories and some of the sales techniques of the
market vendors of the Feira Livre (Free Fair). In this way, the question that guides this article
is: what are the trajectories of the market vendors of the Porto Franco Free Fair, Maranhão
State, and how do they produce and elaborate sales techniques to get the customers' attention?
The Monography is structured as follows: a) Introduction, where I present an approach to the
theme; b) Chapter I, where I perform a theoretical review on productions of the Social
Sciences that deal with street/free markets and methodological discussion on the conduct of
the research work; c) Chapter II, where I present the city of Porto Franco and the Feira Livre
(Free Fair), where I also present the market vendors who were interviewed; d) Chapter III,
where I discuss the ethnographic research data in the light of the theories and, finally; f) the
Final Considerations. |
