The state public administration plays a fundamental role that affects the life of an entire
population, therefore, this work was developed with the objective of knowing people's
happiness index, as well as how these same people see public administration in Tocantins. As
for the methodology, descriptive qualitative research was used, as well as content analysis.
Data were collected through semi-structured interviews carried out with two general service
assistants, one administrative assistant, two unemployed people and used the Google Forms
platform, where a link with the questionnaire was sent to the UFT academics who participated
in the interviews. To analyze the interviews, the content analysis technique was used. The
survey results show that, in general, people are happy, as most respondents answered "yes",
they are happy despite the difficulties and limitations of each one, only one person admitted
not being happy and another said he was "more or less". The main reason for the interviewees'
dissatisfaction is the endemic corruption in the state public administration, the way the State
of Tocantins is administered. For the majority of those interviewed, it is necessary to end state
corruption and improve the management of public money.
