Playfulness is of great importance in a classroom, but in order to achieve a very meaningful learning, it is necessary for the adult to know how to lead the child to arrive and his goals. The objective of this research was to understand the importance of playfulness in the children's learning process in the educational scope of the daycare center. As a guiding question, did we seek to answer how playfulness is used in the educational process of children aged 0 to 3 years? The work had as methodology the bibliographic study in works that address the importance of playfulness for early childhood education, among the studied authors are: Huizinga (2008), Kishimoto (2005), Arce (2013), Santos (2008). And the development of a field research, based on the structuring of an observation script in the classroom, complemented with an interview with a teacher of early childhood education, based on a questionnaire composed of ten semi-open questions. It is worth mentioning that it was planned to interview two more teachers, however due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was not possible to carry out the other interviews. Upon concluding the research, we came to the conclusion that playfulness is and will always be part of children's lives. Therefore, we encourage that play and toys are of paramount importance for learning, especially in Early Childhood Education, a stage in which the child is in the stage of development of the cognitive, social affective and psychomotor areas.
