In Brazil there is an average prevalence of 2% of sickle cell trait in the general population. Thus, understanding the perception of the falcemic person about his perception of his Quality of Life makes it possible to recognize the factors that influence this process, and can help to create subsidies that support the interventions of health professionals. In this sense, the objective of the present study was to measure the Quality of Life of Adult PA patients treated at a Reference Blood Center in the state of Tocantins. As a methodology, it is a descriptive, qualitative and observational cross-sectional study. Patients with PA suffer life-long painful crises, causing inability to perform their daily activities, resulting in impairment in personal and social life, which can lead the patient to social isolation and difficulties living together; causing damage to the formation, career, relationships in general of patients with PA. It is necessary to evaluate the level of qualification of the professionals who work with these patients in order to raise the level of preparation and capacity for assistance of patients with PA in the Public Health Service. In addition, inserting the family in the context of coping, treatment and the like, is a determining factor for improving the process of coping with the disease. A Anemia Falciforme (AF) é uma das doenças hereditárias mais antigas da humanidade, caracterizada pela formação de foice das células vermelhas do sangue. No Brasil existe uma prevalência média de 2% do traço falciforme na população geral. Desta maneira, compreender a percepção do falcêmico sobre sua percepção da sua Qualidade de Vida possibilita reconhecer os fatores que influenciam esse processo, e pode-se ajudar a criar subsídios que fundamentem as intervenções dos profissionais de saúde. Nesse sentido, o Objetivo do presente estudo foi mensurar a Qualidade de Vida de Pacientes Adultos com AF atendidos em um Hemocentro de Referência no Estado do Tocantins. Como Metodologia, trata-se de um estudo descritivo, qualiquantitativo e observacional transversal. Os portadores de AF sofrem durante toda a vida com as crises dolorosas, causando incapacidade em cumprir suas atividades de vida diárias, isso resulta em prejuízo na vida pessoal e social, o que pode levar o paciente a um isolamento social e dificuldades de convivência; causando prejuízo para a formação, carreira, relações em geral dos portadores de AF. É necessário avaliar o grau de capacitação dos profissionais que atuam frente à esses pacientes a fim de levantar o nível de preparo e capacidade para a assistência dos portadores de AF, no Serviço Público de Saúde.
