The objective was to evaluate the current practice of nurses in the puerperal consultation in
basic care in the city of Palmas / TO. This is a descriptive-exploratory study of a qualitative
approach, carried out in 10 Community Health Centers of the municipality of Palmas,
Tocantins. Eleven nurses participated. For the data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire
was used, carried out in the nursing offices of each CSC, in January 2019, in the morning and
afternoon shifts. The data were analyzed from the Content Analysis Technique. The majority
of the nurses who participated in the research were female, and had participated in training
sessions aimed at the health of the puerperal woman. Some professionals brought aspects of
the physical examination into the interview category, and it is possible to observe some
insecurity to differentiate each step.
It is concluded that it is necessary to carry out refresher courses for nurses with the objective
of strengthening the knowledge and practices of these professionals in order to improve the
care provided to the puerperal women. |
