Resumo:
The aim of this article is to present the experiences of deaf people in the context of inclusive education and, on the occasion, discuss the importance of implementing bilingual education in bilingual education polo schools and in bilingual classes. For this, interviews were conducted with three deaf participants, from the cities of Tocantinópolis - TO, Marianópolis - TO and Porangatu - GO, who have already completed high school. According to the participants, the inclusive school is a place of unpleasant memories for the deaf. The school is organized for hearing students only. Communication with hearing friends is through gestures and mime. There was no interpreter in the classroom. The schooling experiences of most deaf people are similar. According to Skliar (2016), teaching in inclusive schools is not suitable for deaf people. This reinforces the need to implement bilingual education and, in the context of smaller cities, the creation of bilingual classes.
