Resumo:
With the constant search for alternative biomasses, which have high concentration of cellulose and low cost, aiming at the potential production of second generation ethanol, this study was carried out using as a biomass a mixture of several grass species from the state of São Paulo. Paul, it must be considered, however, that grass is produced in small areas for use with cattle feed today. Plantations in large areas that generate biomass for bioenergy need differentiated production systems. With this in mind, this lignocellulosic material can be transformed into ethanol as long as its structure is hydrolyzed by chemical (acidic) or biotechnological (enzymatic) processes generating fermentable sugars. The objective of this work was to use physical and chemical processes of grass and subsequent hydrolysis and carbohydrate quantification. The experiment was carried out with the addition of acetic acid in the dry sample, followed by washing and hydrolysis in sodium citrate buffer solution and subsequent incubation. The results showed that after pretreatment there was an 18.9% yield of hydrolysis, as well as a potential for ethanol production of 33.8 L / t, both below what is shown in the literature in other biomasses. the result obtained for future studies.
